Sweden has been trying to get a change regarding forest biomass in the EU Council of Ministers. The changes in the new renewables directive would not only differ from the European Parliament’s line, but also from a majority position in the Council that ministers agreed on last June. Among other things, the Swedish Presidency tried to get the other countries to agree on a new definition of “primary forest biomass”.
